Ground Zero:The Bombing of Heroshima and Nagasaki
On the 6th of August 1945 the U.S army dropped an Atomic bomb on Heroshima and another one on Nagasaki. The bombs were equivelent to 20,000 tons of TNT. The weapons were able to cause Japan to surrender but unfortunately the bombs also killed thousands of inocent civilians. Here are the details. On Monday August 6 1945 at 2:15 a.m a B-29 Superfortress nicknamed Enola Gay took off from Tinian the twelve man crew on board made sure the misson was a secret. For the plane to carry such a heavy payload the plane was modified with new propellers, stronger engines and faster opening bomb bay doors only 15 bombers were modified like this. The bomber was acompanied by 2 other bombers with cameras and several measureing devices.at around 3:00 the crew began to arm the bomb codenamed Little Boy. Little Boy was created using uranium-235. Uranium-235 is a radioactive isotope of uranium. At around 8:15 a.m the B-29s bombbay doors open.Little Boy explodes 1900 feet above the city and only missed the target the Aioi bridge by approximately 800 feet.

The World War 2 Creature
Even if the Americans had the firepower to fight back the had another way of fighting, a very interesting way of fighing. They used phycological warfere. they tricked the Japanese into thinking the country was infested with blood suking creatures called Aswang. The Americans took the bodies of fallen soldiers, drained them of blood, put 2 puncture holes in the bodies and left them where the enemy could see them. This tactic worked well on a terrorist group in the area before the war and it also proved to work against the Japanese. There are rumors that in order to increase the effect an actual creature was ceated and let loose in to the jungle.People in Mexico say the chupacabra is one of the creatures from world war 2. Is it true? I dont know. If it is how did it get to Mexico? Again i dont know. It was an interesting way of fighing but it is very unlikely that a creature like that exsists but who knows? maybe it does exist, lurking somewhere in the dense jungles of the Phillippenes.

German weaponry -problems for the allies
On the battle field with hundreds of extremely well trained soldiers 4 main things almost ensure your your survival those things are training.rations, ammo and weapons. I will be focusing on weapons and not just any weapons I will talk about the most powerful and deadly weapons of world war 2.
The Luger-If you can think of one sidearm that represents the German army during the second world war it would be the 9 mm Luger. It was the German counter part of the American colt .45. Although not as powerful as the 45 at the hands of the Germans this was a deadly weapon
German Pnzerfaust- For a tank column driving through a old town sounds easy right? Not if the town is filled with Germans with mobile anti tank rockets. Panzerfaust translates in to "tank fist". and would ruin any tank commander's day.
M2 Flamethrower-The flamethrower was used by American and German forces. The flamethrower was powered by jellied gasoline the shoot out a 200 foot long jet of fire. If you were being chased by a guy with this you would not get very far.
German king tiger- the king tiger was one of the most feared tanks of the war. It was capable of taking out several Shermans( the main american tank during world war 2). Its armor was 7 inches thick and had a anti armor turret. and had a top speed of 25.8 mph.
German -MG42 The MG42 was the German counterpart of the American Browning m 1919.The MG was put in bunkers to protect the shooter and also on vehicles to make it mobile.

About world war 2
A world war 2 propaganda poster |
Naval battle of midway |
During world war 2 , there were fights on 2 sides of the world, The Atlantic side and the Pacific side. On the Atlantic the Russians,Americans and the British along with their allies like Canada were fighting the Germans. On the Pacific side the Americans were fighting the Japanese and their allies like Australia were fighting the Japanese. I will be focusing on the battles in the Philippenes on the Pacific side. Japan invaded the country in December 1941 shortly after Japan declared war on America. The United states controlled the the Philippenes when they attacked. The American-Filipino army was defeated by April 1942 but guerrilla forces continued to fight. Because of the number of islands the Japanese did not occupy all of them.

Guerrilla forces in the Philippines
When the U.S army was defeated and even when Macaurthur retreated to Australia, Guerrilia forces still continued to operate and fight the invaders in the country. The rebels were some villagers and former army troops who evaded capture during the fall of Bataan and Corregidor. The rebels made contact with Macaurthur's headquarters in Australia. They were told not to start any major operations until the actual invasion. The rebels were sabotageing enemy vehicles and camps, ambushing enemy troops and most importantly , collecting information for the invasion. During the occupation the country had guerrilla transmitting and receiving stations stations all over the country, Durring , guerrilla attacks became more frequent. They also fought along side the advancing American forces and carried out recon missions for the Americans on the Leyte landings and Samar invasion.
